Climb attack drifter in Brazil

Check this bit of driver skill out... from Rhys Millen and his 750bhp rear-wheel-drive RMR/Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe, as he shows us the broadside route up the Serra Do Rio Do Rastro pass in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The superb video was shot and edited by www.DCChavez.com at the Red Bull Xtreme Drift event. Kick-ass!

Our friends Sliproadjunkies.co.uk shared this one with us, and we had to share it with you... seeing is believing here!

VW Bluemotion Scirocco and Passat CC

VW's brilliant Bluemotion Technology range is now to include the Scirocco and Passat CC range. Utilising new Stop-Start technology, battery regeneration systems and improved aerodynamics, the Bluemotion Scirocco and Passat CC will be the most economical and lowest emission versions yet. Entry-level Scirocco BM models, from £21,500, will have the 2.0-litre TDi with 140PS, offering up to 62.8mpg (up from 55.4mpg) with a manual six-speed 'box, or 57.6mpg (up from 51.4mpg) for the DSG 'box, with substantial drops in emissions also. There will also be a £23,440 BM 2.0-litre GT version, offering 170PS, offering 55.4mpg (was 53.3mpg) manual, or 51.4mpg (was 50.4mpg) DSG, also with less emissions. Passat CC engines will be the same options, but also come with regenerative braking system as well as Stop/Start and better aero packs, for the first time, from £23,555-£25,850. For further information visit www.volkswagen.co.uk

Next generation Impreza

Subaru have just unveiled this innovative design concept for the Impreza, in sporty four-door coupe form. Cool eh? It marks yet another paradigm shift in the Impreza pedigree – bringing it boldly into the C21st, with designers concentrating on 'dynamic flow' and a 'confident stance.' Subaru say the concept will also feature the next generation of 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated Boxer engines, with Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) – as well as the latest 'infotainment' and safety technology; including Subaru's new 'EyeSight' system, using cameras mounted on the front edge of the roof, relayed back to the in-car central monitor and connected to 'collision-prevention' technology. Swift, sexy and safe... what do you reckon?

Porsche unveil lightweight Cayman R

The Porsche Cayman R is here - making us wonder what the hell is the point of buying a £70-odd-K 911 these days? On sale from February for £51,731, the Cayman R is a lightweight (55 Kg off the S model), 10 bhp more powerful  (330 bhp) version of the already-brilliant mid-engined coupe. 0-60 mph will drop to 5.0s dead for the manual (up 0.2s over the S), or 0.5s quicker with the PDK dual-clutch transmission, to just 4.7s. And the Cayman R will reach a 175 mph V-max now too. Added to the Cayman's already fabulous looks, brilliant build quality and amazing Jekyll and Hyde drive, the R will come with a fixed rear wing, black-framed halogen headlamps, 19-in lightweight rims, C-F seats, ally doors skins (from the 911 Turbo and GT3), 20 mm lower sports suspension and - best of all - a standard limited slip differential. The only thing we hate is the new colour... 'Peridot'... what do you think?
